Building a stronger future for rangatahi across Albany and the North Shore.
Welcome to Albany Youth Ecosystem
Connecting youth organisations in Albany so that together we are greater than the sum of our parts. We share knowledge, resources and opportunities to build a stronger network that supports and empowers our rangatahi.
Ka whakatō te kororā ki ngā tahataha o Te Kōpua, ka tupu te rangatahi i raro i te maru o te hapori.
The little blue penguin (kororā) can represent a willingness to journey far, an ability to adapt and make a home in unexpected places, and a spirited voice that cannot be ignored. Once known to nest along Lucas Creek in Albany, the kororā remains a reminder of both the rich natural heritage of our community and the importance of creating places where life can flourish.
This newly composed whakataukī celebrates local youth, community leaders, and organisations who are willing to go the distance to make a difference. It honours those whose dedication inspires others and strengthens our community as we unite with one shared purpose: to love, support, champion, and empower our rangatahi.
Connecting
We believe strong relationships create stronger communities. By connecting youth organisations, schools, community groups, and rangatahi, we foster collaboration, share knowledge, and build a network where everyone is working towards the same goal: supporting young people to thrive.
Empowering
When we work together, we achieve more than any one organisation could alone. By sharing ideas, resources, and expertise, we strengthen one another’s ability to create meaningful opportunities and positive outcomes for our rangatahi.
Walking together
Youth voice is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to walking alongside young people, listening to their experiences, and ensuring they help shape the decisions that affect them. Because we believe: “Nothing for us, without us.”
Albany Youth Ecosystem Connection Hui
Our Albany Youth Ecosystem Connection Hui brings together youth organisations, schools, community groups, and passionate individuals who are committed to supporting young people across our community. These regular gatherings are an opportunity to connect, share ideas, collaborate on projects, and strengthen relationships. Whether you’re a long-time partner or new to the network, we’d love to have you join us as we work together to create positive outcomes for our rangatahi.
